Merry Go Round Farm

Merry Go Round Farm is a small fiber farm in the Appalachian foothills of Berea, Kentucky, raising registered Shetland sheep and Angora goats and creating handcrafted goods from fiber and leather.

Our Shetlands are selected for quality and fine fleeces, producing beautiful, versatile wool for spinning and fiber work. Our Angora goats produce the soft, lustrous mohair they're known for. We offer fiber from the farm along with hand-dyed yarns, roving and finished fiber pieces.

The farm is also where a lot of making happens. We work with oil-tanned and specialty leathers, cutting each piece by hand and turning them into everything from refillable journals and jewelry to barrettes, bookmarks, trays, magnets and keychains.

The designs are straightforward, functional and made to be used. Our journals are refillable rather than disposable. Leather jewelry is lightweight and easy to wear. Barrettes, trays and everyday pieces take advantage of leather's strength without hiding its natural texture and character.

Alongside the leatherwork, we turn wool into hand-dyed yarns, roving and finished fiber goods, combining what we raise here with years of hands-on making.

It's a working farm and a working studio—and there's usually something being raised, dyed, cut, assembled or made.
